Description:
Full-time high school biology positions in a well-established charter school for the 2008-2009 school year. Students at Mariana Bracetti Academy come from diverse backgrounds and reflect the varied economic and educational composition of the North Philadelphia neighborhood in which we are located. Candidates are required to be PA Certified in the specified content area. Interest in urban education and excellent classroom management skills are required. Candidates must be willing to be part of a team, plan with other teachers, co-teach with special education teachers, and have regular communication with support staff. The ability to address different learning styles, plan instructional goals, foster positive communication, implement appropriate classroom management strategies, and establish respectful and safe classrooms are a must. Experience not required but preferred.
