Description:
Clayton Academy -Pittsburgh PA. The Teacher is responsible for creating a positive learning environment utilizing a variety of instructional techniques to enable students to increase their attendance and academic performance while improving their behavior. Implements CEP's academic guidelines to meet and maintain individual and school academic achievement goals utilizing the programs and materials in the CEP Standard Operating Model
Assesses the skill level of students using CEP assessment tools and provide individualized classroom instruction that addresses different student learning styles to enable students to meet and/or exceed state and local standards.
Oversees and monitors the use of all resources and equipment
Demonstrates an effective working knowledge of the subject matter and research-based best practices.
Maintains accurate attendance and behavioral records, academic grades and other student records as required by state law and CEP's policies and procedures.
Plans, prepares, and implements lesson plans and develops activities and materials for use in the classroom
Collaborates with peers to develop, plan and implement instructional programs and procedures.
Oversees and directs all activities of the Instructional Assistant.
Communicates regularly with parents to discuss student academic and behavioral progress
