Job Description:
MATH CURRICULUM COORDINATOR
The School District of Cheltenham Township announces the following professional contract position, available immediately.
Candidates for this position must possess Pennsylvania Instructional I or II certification in Mathematics 7-12.
DESCRIPTION: Responsible for oversight of the district's K-8 Mathematics program.
Duties within this role include:
1. Work with K-8 faculty, building leaders, administrators in the research, resourcing, implementation, review, and evaluation of math curricula.
2. Coordinating with High School Math Department in order to create seamless curricular transition between program levels.
3. Monitoring the effectiveness of the math program and math instruction through on-going examination and analysis of student performance data.
4. Teaches one class at the middle school.
5. Facilitate development and implementation of PA standards-based curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
6. Use district-wide performance data on PSSA and other assessment tools to improve student performance across program levels and disaggregated student groups.
7. Using data, work with staff in order to target specific instruction to students' academic needs.
8. Provide feedback and staff development to K-8 teachers through in-class modeling, consultation, workshops.
9. Work with students on enrichment and acceleration.
11. Work with Directors of Education, Challenge and Pupil Services to meet the learning targets of all student populations.
12. Act as district liaison for instructional technology.
13. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Education.
