Description:
This is a school-term position with primary responsibility to provide each student with an opportunity to attain and maintain optimum health using good nursing skills and sound judgment. Qualifications: 1. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing which incorporates pharmacology courses into the curriculum. 2. Maintenance of a professional licensure, in good standing, with Missouri State Board of Nursing. Duties include but are not limited to: 1. Documenting pertinent information in charts of students and in other designated places of record. 2. Adhering to guidelines set forth in the Health Center Protocol Manual. 3. Administering first aid and emergency first aid to students, and, when warranted and in keeping with guidelines, to staff. 4. Dispensing medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician.
5. Possessing the knowledge of medication dosage, side effects, etc. 6. Recording of medications/treatments in keeping with established procedures. 7. Scheduling various appointments for students, obtaining records, and recording findings of said visits. 8. Escorting students to appointments. 9. Attending student functions, or job-related educational programs, which may require over-night arrangements, at request of supervisor. 10. Reporting to supervisor any findings which need further attention.
