Description:
A position is available for a Speech Pathologist. Speech-Language Pathologists are communication specialists who work with students with language handicaps, articulation deficits, dysfluencies and voice disorders. This is a 9-month position.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Serves as a resource to school staff members in the development of a balanced program for oral communication and speech improvement.
2. Assists and guides teachers in identifying speech and language impairments.
3. Thoroughly assess and diagnose speech, voice, and language impairments.
4. Screens to identify speech handicapped children at regular intervals and at specified levels.
5. Assists in referrals of individuals to agencies and specialists.
6. Individualizes programs of therapy to meet individual students' needs and correct existing speech or language handicaps.
7. Works with classroom teachers and other school staff implement therapy through student's daily activities.
8. Provides information, support, and counseling to parents and families.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
1. Master's degree in speech and language pathology.
2. Certification as Speech Pathologist.
