Description:
Reading Specialist
Gordon Parks Elementary is a progressive K-5 charter school in the Kansas City area whose mission is to work with at-risk urban core children. The person who applies for this position must demonstrate compasion and understanding for students who struggle with the learning process. This new position will work specifically with children who enter our school significantly below grade level. He/she will also provide support to classroom teachers through assessment analysis and strategy selection. We prefer a Masters in reading or a related field and at least 5 years classroom experience in an urban setting.
