SPECIAL EDUCATION PROGRAM COORDINATOR
Full time / Academic Calendar
Start Date: July 2008
ACCESS & Gertrude Fielding Learning Center / Danbury

Major Responsibilities: Coordination of innovative, therapeutic, educational program serving students with emotional difficulties. Responsibilities include: program oversight and implementation, maintaining effective communication with member district administrators and inclusive parental support.

The Program Coordinator works under the supervision of the Director of School Services. Position is located in Danbury.

Qualifications:

1. Current Connecticut Certification 065 or 165 or certification in a specific area of disability or pupil personnel services required; 092 preferred
2. Experience with students who have behavioral challenges and social emotional needs, in an alternative education setting
3. Experience in crisis intervention in school settings
4. Knowledge of Special Education procedures and regulations
5. Desire to work in a beautiful downtown Danbury setting and become part of a close-knit educational/therapeutic team
6. Regular and consistent attendance is considered an essential function of this position
7. Other duties as may be assigned
