Coordinator Alternative Services
In this position, the individual will be responsible for the coordination of the ALPA Program, Alternative Instructional Program (Suspension/Expulsion Program), Homebound Instruction, and provides leadership in improving the teaching and learning processes within the Program through planning, development, and implementation of school improvement plans. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring improved student achievement through the effective management of the student assessment process. The position reports directly to the Director of Pupil Personnel Services. The position will be available July 1, 2008.
Minimum Qualifications
Connecticut Intermediate Administrators Certificate (#092)
Connecticut Teachers' Certifications, Comprehensive Special Education K-12 (#165)
Must possess the ability to demonstrate strong instructional methodology as well as the ability to communicate in a fair and equitable manner with students, parents, staff, district office, business/industry and the community at large.
Strong organizational skills, knowledge of supervisory/evaluation methods and the use of technology to support instruction and special education programming required.
The ability to work cooperatively with staff and to exercise leadership in the supervision of staff and the development of curriculum.
Experience utilizing student data to improve student and school performance.
Superior oral and written communication skills.
The highest integrity and an exceptional work ethic required.
