Job Description:
Pathway Academy (K-8) in Kansas City, Missouri, a division of EdisonLearning, is searching for a Junior Academy English Language Arts teacher. Our mission is to create a school of excellence and academic rigor, and nurture pride in the community's diverse culture. Excellent teachers make the difference in future opportunities for our students, especially in the first few years of a child's education. We have extremely high expectations for student achievement and behavior, rigorous instruction, and a positive achievement-oriented school culture. We are looking for a teacher whose classroom experience exemplifies these ideals. Our teachers use a variety of instructional methodologies and curriculum resources to present material to students. Teachers will also administer different forms of student assessments, communicate with parents and other team members about student progress, and plan for further instruction.
Requirements:
- Valid Missouri State Certification
- An accredited Bachelor's degree or higher
- Subject and grade proficiency required
- Familiarity with urban public school systems preferred
- Ability to work cooperatively with all members of the staff and communicate effectively with parents
- Previous teaching experience preferred
- Must be a US citizen or posses a valid US working visa
