Job Description:
Evaluates children and adults with special needs to identify strengths and weaknesses as well as determine family service plan and implement appropriate speech and language therapy goals. Develops and builds rapport with families and classroom team to integrate therapeutic interventions into daily activities. Completes accurate documentation in a timely manner. Ensures needs are addressed, rights are protected and promotes family inclusion. Knowledgeable of legal, regulatory, and agency guidelines; takes measures to ensure self and team are compliant. Keeps supervisor and team members apprised of events, needs, and concerns of the department.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification: Licensed as a Speech Language Pathologist in the State of Missouri. Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) preferred.
Preferred Experience: Experience in pediatric therapy. Experience in oral motor, feeding, and swallowing disorders.
Experience with Autism and related disabilities.
Experience with American Sign Language.
Skills/Abilities:
Good interpersonal skills; enjoys working with people.
Able to communicate clearly and effectively.
Exemplifies dependability, responsibility, and accountability through personal example.
Assess own strengths and weakness and takes initiative for
self-development.
Ability to work without direct supervision.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft word and related programs.
