Job Description:
Shearwater High School's Principal serves as the educational leader, responsible for managing school policies, regulations and procedures to ensure that all students are supervised in a safe learning environment that successfully administers the approved curricula and achieves the school's mission.
Creating a high performing, student-centered school requires that the school Principal work collaboratively to direct and nurture all members of the school staff and to communicate effectively with students and their families. Inherent in the position are the responsibilities for student recruitment and retention, scheduling, curriculum development, overseeing student support services, personnel management, emergency procedures, and facility operations.
This school Principal will have experience working with high-risk adolescent populations and will have strategies for meeting the unique needs of a diverse pool of students, so that each student can meet challenging academic standards.
The Principal will share and uphold Shearwater's core values of integrity, mission-focus, dignity and worth of the person, and a commitment to what works.
The Principal reports to the President/CEO.
From November 30, 2009- April 30, 2010, Shearwater expects the school Principal to partner with the President/CEO in a part-time capacity to finalize and implement the abovementioned responsibilities. Shearwater expects the school Principal to transition into a full-time employee May 1, 2010.
Salary is commensurate with skills, experience and educational level.
