Job Description:
Position available immediately:
The Solomon Schechter Day School of Saint Louis seeks a substitute teacher to work between half and two-thirds in an open ended capacity for a teacher out on medical leave.
Requirements: Extremely organized, flexible, good written and verbal communication skills, Special Education credential and a proven track record of supporting children with special needs ranging from mild organizational issues to moderate dyslexia, attentional or processing challenges.
Duties may include but are not limited to:
-Provide direct services as needed to special needs students in K-8 in small groups or
1 on 1
-Review and send weekly snapshots of progress for each student to parents
-Be available for special needs families on an as needed basis via phone and e mail
-Keep close contact with classroom teachers and provide supportive services to teachers.
The Solomon Schechter Day School is an independent school serving 140 children in grades K-8. The school sets high standards of academic attainment, and embraces a philosophy of full inclusion for students with mild special needs.
