Job Description:
Director of School Design
The primary function of the Director of School Design is to:
-Supervise and evaluate new school principals.
-Ensure that new school models are implemented with fidelity to the board-adopted design.
-Ensure that new school models serve as successful instructional models for the district.
-Ensure that new school models are successful in reducing/closing the achievement gap.
The director will supervise, evaluate and support start up and redesign schools through instructional leadership. The director will supervise the newley appointed principals in the development and implementation of the school accountability plan in order to ensure baseline student achievement results that place these schools within the proficient to goal range of the district accountability matrix and state standards. The director will assist the designated principals in the supervision of their schools, coordination of design specific professiional development plans, school budgets and school schedules. The director will provide guidance in the initial development of the school Compacts, school governance councils and the career/theme based advisory boards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of 5 years successful administrator experience, including successful experience as a School Principal.
Expaerience with high school principal supervision and/or high school reform.
