Job Description:
Bilingual Parent Educator needed for Elementary School. 30 hours per week. Bachelor's Degree and Parents as Teachers (PAT) Birth to 5 certification preferred (BA in child development or human services preferred). Obtaining Parents as Teachers (PAT) certification (birth to 5) will be required. Experience working with young children and families, and knowledge of early childhood and child development is required. Experience with special needs a plus. Require excellent interpersonal and group facilitation skills as well as oral and written communication skills. Ability to organize and function independently. Ability to plan and organize children's playgroups, parent meetings, and family activities. Require computer skills to maintain program data. Valid CT driver's license required for assignments such as home visits. Must be able to provide instruction to Spanish speaking parents and students. Experience working with non-English and limited-English speaking parents and children required. $14.00-$18.00/hour based on experience.
