Job Description:
IDEAL-NM Regional Student Services Coordinator
This position funded by IDEAL-NM through the New Mexico Public Education Department. Although the position is currently classified temporary there is a strong likelihood that the appointment will be extended. Working hours are primarily 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in an office setting. There is a strong likelihood of evening and weekend hours and day travel to outlying communities.
Qualifications:
New Mexico Level II Teaching License
Basic accounting skills
Prior experience with and proficiency in Blackboard learning management system
Information technology skills to include knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software applications
Strong interpersonal skills
Detail oriented and practiced multi-tasker
Ability to work independently and take initiative
Demonstrated customer service focus
Responsibilities and duties:
a.Serve as the point of contact for all schools in the southwest region of New Mexico who enroll students in IDEAL-NM courses. Conduct new client intakes, explain resources, provide information and conduct training. Communicate with clients on an ongoing basis to monitor and support student success.
b.Serve as a liaison between school personnel, IDEAL-NM staff, IDEAL-NM eTeachers, and parents to ensure communication and collaboration to support student success.
c.Conduct virtual and on site trainings for school personnel.
d.Facilitate regular interaction between all stakeholders to ensure interventions are applied for students on academic watch.
e.Develop and nurture professional relationships with school personnel who are working with online students, as well as all REC personnel responsible for training school personnel and IDEAL-NM eteachers.
f.Recommend policies and procedures related to academic and student support services administration. Provide input to student and school handbooks as needed to reflect current processes.
