DIRECTOR OF MAGNET SCHOOLS, ASSESSMENT AND SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT:

DESCRIPTION: Provide leadership, support and evaluation for curricular programs that foster high levels of academic achievement for all students.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (1) Master's Degree with courses in educational administration, evaluation, testing, planning or instruction (2)Successful performance as a public school education administrator, education researcher, professor of education or school improvement facilitator (3) Demonstrated experience in leadership, which involved some area of reform (4) Evidence of management skills, which include success in critical thinking, problem solving, excellence in communication (particularly with staff, students and parents) and demonstrated leadership experience (5) Evidence of successful experience in planning and directing programming including budget development (6) Evidence of professional development as required by the State of Michigan as appropriate (7) Technology skills at a level capable of creating spread sheets, data reports and other relevant information.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (1) Knowledge of effective models of school reform (2) Knowledge of assessment and evaluation (3) Knowledge of current research on teaching and learning (4) Experience in a diverse, urban school setting (5) Successful performance as a public school administrator
