Description:
The BCSD has an opening for a .60 FTE Vocal/General Music and VAPA (Visual and Performing Arts) Teacher at North Hill Elementary for the 2008-2009 school year. North Hill has over 300 students in grades K-5. We provide smaller class sizes (20 or less in grades K-2) with an array of support services in a progressive educational system. Applicants must hold or be eligible to obtain conditional licensure from the State of Iowa/BoEE. This program will be in a new building for the start of the 2009 school year.

The starting date is August 14, 2008. The following items are to be forwarded to my office in order to be considered for the position: official letter of interest, resume, list of references, copies of your license/certification, copies of transcripts, and letters of reference or credentials file. Your completed REAP application can be accessed by my office. Salary will be determined by experience and qualifications, with a full range of benefits. The BCSD is a culturally diverse district with 4,500 students located in SE Iowa on the scenic bluffs of the Mississippi River. Partnered with a very supportive parent and business community, the district is able to offer a variety of advanced technical, vocational, and college preparatory courses at the high school level. The District has a 16% minority student population, as well as a pupil/teacher ratio of 18:1.
