Description:
The BCSD has an opening for a Auto Skills (Academy of Reading and Math programs) teacher at James Madison Middle School (Middle School, Elementary Math, or Reading endorsement desired) for the 2008-2009 school year. James Madison Middle School has over 450 students in grades 6-8 and offers a comprehensive middle school program of study. We provide smaller class sizes with an array of support services in a progressive educational system. Applicants must hold or be eligible to obtain conditional licensure from the State of Iowa/BoEE.

The starting date is August 14, 2008. The following items are to be forwarded to my office in order to be considered for the position: official letter of interest, resume, list of references, copies of your license/certification, copies of transcripts, and letters of reference or credentials file. Your completed REAP application can be accessed by my office. Salary will be determined by experience and qualifications, with a full range of benefits. Screening of applications will begin immediately and will continue until a suitable candidate is employed.

The BCSD is a culturally diverse district with 4,500 students located in SE Iowa on the scenic bluffs of the Mississippi River. Partnered with a very supportive parent and business community, the district is able to offer a variety of advanced technical, vocational, and college preparatory courses at the high school level. The District has a 16% minority student population, as well as a pupil/teacher ratio of 18:1.
