Job Description:
A full-time high school English position available to teach 12th grade research and European literature classes. PA secondary English certification is required. A signing bonus of $5,000 will be paid out over two years for new teachers who sign and stay for two years.
Students at Mariana Bracetti Academy come from diverse backgrounds and reflect the varied economic and educational composition of the North Philadelphia neighborhood in which we are located. An interest in urban education and excellent classroom management skills are required. Candidates must be willing to be part of a team, plan with other teachers, co-teach with special education teachers, and have regular communication with support staff. The ability to address different learning styles, plan instructional goals, foster positive communication, implement appropriate classroom management strategies, and establish respectful and safe classrooms are a must. Experience not required but preferred.
