The Infant Lead Teacher is responsible for planning, implementing and organizing classroom activities through a well planned lesson plan for infants from 6 weeks to 10 months. Lead Teachers provide an inclusive educational classroom, which involves the teacher actively engaging the children in activities that are age-appropriate and adapted to various special needs as necessary. We are looking for someone with a nurturing, caring personality that is organized and able to multi-task.
Good Shepherd is a small, year-round center (74 children max.) with a well-educated and stable staff. Up to one-third of children in any room can have special needs. Good Shepherd serves children ages 6 weeks up to 6 years. A non-profit, it was founded in 1967.
Salary for a person with an associate degree in early childhood or education or psychology is $16 per hour. For person with experience, but no degree, 3 years experience is required for $16 per hour.
Please note: No budget is available to move a person from a location outside the St. Louis metropolitan area.
Responsibilities:
*create and implement lesson plans
*provide an exciting and inviting environment for children to explore and learn every day
*supervision of children
*monitor student progress through evaluations
*communicate with parents
*maintain accurate feeding, nap and diaper schedules if applicable for classroom working in
* follow state guidelines on keeping toys, tables, diaper areas, and the classroom clean and sanitized
Qualifications:
*at least 2-years experience working with children in an educational setting
*ability to relate to children with special needs and provide inclusive experiences in the classroom
*demonstrate positive, caring, loving, personal qualities
