Job Description:
School Psychology Interns at Special School District (SSD) work alongside certified school psychologists to provide services that support the academic and social-emotional development of students across St. Louis County. In this role, you will participate in all stages of the special education evaluation process, from consultation and data collection to eligibility determination, while aligning your work to Missouri’s Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) compliance standards. You’ll gain hands-on experience conducting observations, facilitating team meetings, and using data to inform instructional and behavioral supports for students.
This internship offers a strong foundation in equitable and inclusive school psychology practice, with opportunities to serve diverse learners and support meaningful collaboration between schools and families. Education and Experience
- Current enrollment in a School Psychologist graduate degree program required
- Graduate program approval to pursue an internship position required
- A Temporary Authorization Certificate (TAC) in the area of School Psychology, issued by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) required
- $50,831/year
- 10-month school year (August to June), exact dates dependent on assigned location
