Job Description:
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: Responsible for providing physical therapy services to students referred through the educational process. 

• Experience in an educational setting, servicing multi-handicapped and special needs students.
• Plan, direct, and administer a physical therapy program for multi-handicapped and special needs students, per students’ IEP.
• Perform diagnostic physical therapy assessments and administer the necessary treatment.
• Instruct and demonstrates the exercises to students which are implemented at home as well as school, as prescribed by the students’ physician.
• Provide effective supervision and training of physical therapy aides when necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory and efficient preparation of progress reports.
• Must be able to assist students that require lifting.
• Complete School Based Child Health Services (SBCHS) billing.
• Assist in following equipment return procedures to the students’ designated district school.

Registered Certified/Licensed Physical Therapist

Salary in accordance with Hartford Federation of School Health Professionals Appendix A, Salary Schedule 5B: ($50,012-$73,813) 10 month work year.
