Assistant Director of Education

The Arch Bridge School at Wellspring has an opening for a credentialed and/certified Administrator for our state approved, and NEASC accredited special education independent private school. We are seeking to identify and hire for the 2022-2023 academic year.

We are looking for: an energetic professional to serve as our Assistant Director of Education to work in complement to the Director of Education.
The Arch Bridge School is part of the Wellspring Foundation an extraordinary 45 year old not for profit, set on a beautiful rural campus in southern Litchfield County, Connecticut. Our population is typically 70% residential students, 30% day students and 85% girls.
The Arch Bridge School offers core academics and college preparatory courses, allowing students to meet their unique academic objectives while in residential treatment or as students attending our therapeutic day school. The Arch Bridge School has a long history of success in serving students with emotional, psychological and learning vulnerabilities and issues. Emphasis in school is placed on providing a positive learning experience, resolving school-related issues, and preparing the student to return to their home school better able to function successfully. The therapeutic dimension of the program offers a comprehensive exploration of the student's individual uniqueness while developing self-reliance, problem solving skills, socialization, and the ability to manage their issues and stress. The fundamental approach of the school is to develop a personal relationship with each student and family, within a clearly defined structure of expectations.

Our most successful school staff members have a high structure, high nurture approach to their work and thrive in a caring relational environment. Our small setting allows our school staff the chance to provide relational classrooms where each student is known as an individual. Required Certification: State of CT Certifications either anticipated or current:
Must have 2 certificates: 
Administrator (092) required.
and,  a second certification: Special Education (165) preferred, or School Social Worker (071), or School Guidance and Counseling Services (068), or School Psychologist (070)
  • Experience with learning accommodations, special education and/or therapeutic school environment desired and helpful.
    With, or without, experience in a setting like ours, you have:
    - a strong commitment to providing a creative school environment for healing,
    - the ability to work well both independently, and as part of a very talented team,
    - an interest in developing new skills, or enhancing existing ones, while working with students with interesting life stories, educational scenarios and college aspirations.
