Student Data Systems Specialist
Full Time / Annual Calendar / Litchfield & Surrounding Areas

Job Description:

EdAdvance is one of six Regional Educational Service Centers (RESC) in CT. We provide essential services to schools and their communities, including but not limited to curriculum writing, substitute teaching, transportation, food service and other specialized services. EdAdvance also offers Technology Services for member districts and their communities. We are seeking a friendly, highly skilled individual to join our IT team and assist our agency and clients with management of information systems and data.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Support use and customization of PowerSchool
  • Update and create documentation and procedures for new and existing data systems.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new administrative software programs as required. 
  • Collaborate with IT personnel and perform other technology related duties and tasks as assigned.
  • Regular and consistent in person attendance is considered an essential function of this position.
The Student Data System Specialist works under the supervision of the Director of Information Technology.  Standard shift is 8:00am-4:30pm, with an included 30-minute break for lunch.

Qualifications:
  • 4-year degree from accredited institution preferred
  • Demonstrate experience with managing the administrative portion of PowerSchool SIS
  • Experience sorting and manipulating data: using vlookup and pivot charts in Excel; writing SQL queries a plus.
  • Strong organizational and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, managing daily priorities and long-term deadlines 
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced educational environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability and willingness to work with administration, staff, and students
  • Excellent customer service skills - patience, active listening, positive language, resilience, effective communication.
  • Ability to travel between sites required, using personal vehicle.
  • Must have a desire to learn and grow.
