Webmaster and Social Media Specialist
POSITION SUMMARY
The Webmaster and Social Media Specialist is responsible for implementing the district online communications plan for the Board of Education and administration. The WMSMS uses a variety of online tools and communication resources and vehicles to create, promote and manage communication with the community and multiple media outlets. The WMSMS reports directly to the Superintendent of Schools.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include such areas as:
Internal/External Communications
- Implements District Online Communications Plan – Includes Web Site, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Media Alerts, etc.
- Adapts regular bulletins and newsletters that communicate the Board, district and school information to be available online through various online media.
- Publishes Press Releases/Announcements/News (Administrator, Achievement, Events, Awards/Recognitions, etc.)
- Creates Communications Related Procedures Development/Updates (current Web Use, Materials Distribution, etc.)
- Provides Professional Development Training for website design and effective/appropriate use of social media.
- Creates and Manages all Social Media Outlets and uses Social Media to Showcase School and District Achievement
- Supports/Advises Board, Cabinet, Central Office Administrators, and School Administrators in planning for:
- General online communications/community relations
- Online Public Relations
- Supports Key District Communications Initiatives
- Prepares, oversees, edits major online Correspondence/ Publications
- Develops/Maintain Relationships with Community Organizations who have an online presence
- Maintains Contact Database
- Provides Proactive Online District Public Relations
- Supports/Advises Schools on PR, media contact
- Executes Online Communications Plan
- BA degree in Communications/Public Relations and/or equivalent education
- Experience creating and publishing content online through various media
- Ability to work proactively, independently and complete assignments on deadline
- Demonstrated experience in media communication and public relations
- Experience with press conferences and public presentations preferred
- Superior communication skills (oral and written)
- High standards of ethics, honesty, and integrity
