Job Description:

The Region One School District is seeking skilled, enthusiastic individuals to join our team of talented substitute teachers. 
Region One is committed to the following:
  • Training all Region One substitute teachers on new health and safety protocols 
  • Providing substitute teachers with access to online training on common digital tools
  • Providing any needed PPE
  • Allowing substitute teachers to indicate site-preferences during the application process
Region One is comprised of the following schools: Lee H. Kellogg School (K-8) in Falls Village, Cornwall Consolidated School (K-8)  in West Cornwall, Kent Center School (PreK-8) in Kent, North Canaan Elementary School (PreK-8) in Canaan, Salisbury Central School (PreK-8) in Lakeville, Sharon Center School (K-8) in Sharon, and Housatonic Valley Regional High School (9-12) in Falls Village.
  • Supervise classes when teachers are absent
  • Understand and follow lesson plans
  • Use technology as directed by the teacher or administrator
  • Understand and apply health and safety protocols
  • Collaborate effectively with staff
  • CT Teaching Certification OR Bachelor’s Degree (college transcripts required)
  • A criminal background and Department of Children and Families (DCF) records checks
  • Participation in Region One Health and Safety Training (late August, date/time TBD, compensation provided)
PreK-8 elementary school and/or 9-12 high school- flexibility is required
