Position:  Special Education Teacher 

Program/Department: Special Education 

Position Length: Full time following the 2024-2025 academic calendar

Salary range:  Per CES/CESEA contract

Start Date: Immediately upon hire

Special Education Teachers needed to work in a regional special education program for students who present with Intellectional/Developmental Disabilities and Autism. We provide a creative K-12 instruction program in a highly structured and supportive atmosphere. Work with well-trained teams in a positive teaching environment. Extensive staff development and teacher support provided.

Available teaching positions:

Oakview Primary School (OPS) - elementary age children with autism and pervasive developmental disabilities
Oakview Middle/High School (OMHS) - middle school age children with autism and pervasive developmental disabilities
Oakview Transition Program (OTP)- high school and young adult age children with autism and pervasive developmental disabilities
Merit Academy - students with emotional and intellectual/developmental disabilities

Qualifications: CT Certification (165) required. Candidates must have a degree in special education and be eligible for/hold State of Connecticut teaching certificate required for the position.  Candidates with previous teaching experience and a MS/MA in the discipline/field are preferred.  See attached job description.
