SCOPE
The School Psychologist is responsible for the intellectual, social and affective development of students.
The School Psychologist is jointly responsible to their Coordinator, Director and Principal of the building(s) to which they are assigned. They are supervised and evaluated by their Coordinator in consultation with the Principal and Director of their assigned school(s).

EXAMPLES OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conducts psychological evaluations of identified and referred students with possible intellectual, learning and/or social-emotional difficulties.
- Uses appropriate observation techniques and diagnostic instruments and writes psychological report related to them in a clear concise and accurate manner.
- Analyzes psychological assessment results, writes appropriate reports, and shares them with involved personnel and parents/guardians.
- Participates in the development and implementation of a relevant educational prescription (IEP) for each individual student for whom psychological services are recommended for their educational/social-emotional needs.
- Consults regularly with parents and classroom teachers regarding the student's progress and program.
- Is proficient in the selection, administration and interpretation of specialized psychological instruments.
- Utilizes a variety of service delivery models which may include: consultation, assessment, classroom guidance activities, individual counseling, small group, parent counseling, classroom in-service workshops, public education programs, crisis intervention, behavior management programs, etc.
- Must possess or be eligible for School Psychologist certification. (070)
- Ability to relate successfully with staff, families and students from diverse backgrounds, experiences and skill levels.
- Bilingual preferred
