Curriculum & Instruction Leader 6-12 - 1.0 FTE
Weston Middle School & Weston High School
Qualifications
  • Valid Connecticut certification with endorsement #015
  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution
  • A minimum of five years of successful teaching experience 
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate a collegial approach 
  • Experience in curriculum development and implementation, in the alignment of instruction with testing, and in curriculum-related teacher training 
  • Ability to transfer current research findings into practice 
  • Demonstrated leadership in improving aspects of instruction and assessment 6-12
  • Demonstrated ability to identify effective instructional and technological resources to  support curriculum requirements 
  • Experience in working effectively with teachers, administrators, parents, and community groups 
  • Currently active in the subject area by means of professional reading, recent coursework, leading workshops, and similar activities 
  • Excellent human relations skills 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, and organization skills
Work Year: 191 days (187 day school year + 4 summer days)
Reports To: Assistant Superintendent
Terms of Employment: as established by the bargaining agreement between the Board of Education and the Weston Teachers’ Association
Availability: Open until filled
