Position Summary
The School Psychologist at Wintergreen Magnet School supports the academic, social-emotional, and behavioral development of students through culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and restorative practices. Grounded in the mission and vision of ACES and WIMS, the School Psychologist collaborates with educators, families, and community partners to remove barriers to learning and promote equitable outcomes for all students.
This role emphasizes prevention, intervention, consultation, and data-informed decision-making within a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS).

Key Responsibilities
Student Support & Intervention
- Provide individual and group counseling services to support students’ social-emotional learning, behavior regulation, and mental wellness.
- Design and implement evidence-based interventions aligned to MTSS (Tier 1, 2, and 3).
- Support restorative practices, conflict resolution, and community-building approaches in partnership with school staff.
- Conduct risk assessments and collaborate on safety planning as needed.
- Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
- Interpret assessment data and communicate results clearly to families and multidisciplinary teams.
- Participate in eligibility determinations, IEP development, and progress monitoring.
- Serve as a collaborative problem-solver with teachers, administrators, and support staff to address student needs.
- Consult with educators on classroom strategies, behavior supports, and instructional accommodations.
- Actively participate in PPT, IEP, and student support team meetings.
- Partner with families in a respectful, culturally responsive manner.
- Support communication between home and school related to student needs and services.
- Connect families with community-based mental health and support resources when appropriate.
- Contribute to schoolwide initiatives related to climate, culture, and social-emotional learning.
- Support data collection and analysis to inform school improvement efforts.
- Collaborate with leadership teams to align practices with ACES and WIMS priorities.
- Adhere to ethical standards and confidentiality requirements of the profession.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation and compliance records.
- Engage in ongoing professional learning and reflective practice.
- Uphold the mission, vision, and values of ACES and Wintergreen Magnet School.
Required
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or related field.
- Valid state certification/licensure as a School Psychologist.
- Knowledge of special education law and evaluation procedures.
- Experience working with diverse student populations.
- Experience in urban or magnet school settings.
- Training in trauma-informed care, restorative practices, and culturally responsive pedagogy.
- Experience supporting MTSS and schoolwide SEL initiatives.
