The Region One Public Schools seek highly qualified candidates for a full-time (1.0 FTE) School Psychologist position for the 2026–2027 School Year, with an anticipated start date of August 18, 2026. The role involves counseling and student support services in one or more Kindergarten through Grade 8 schools in the region. Assignment may include one or more school buildings and may require travel between schools.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Understand special education and Section 504 laws and procedures, as well as the PPT process
  • Demonstrate knowledge of pre-referral processes (e.g., SRBI, CST, SAT, etc.)
  • Maintain ongoing communication and collaboration with students, families, and community professionals
  • Conduct a variety of student evaluations, including psychoeducational and social-emotional assessments
  • Deliver appropriate interventions (e.g., individual/group counseling, social problem-solving skills, risk assessments)
  • Provide ongoing consultation with teachers and parents
  • Perform other responsibilities as determined by the supervisor
Requirements:
  • State of Connecticut Certification (070)
  • Knowledge and experience working with students with social-emotional and behavioral challenges
  • Strong interpersonal skills with students and staff
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience in a school setting
  • Demonstrated ability and expertise in data-based decision-making
Salary and Benefits:
Salary and benefits are in accordance with the Agreement between the Region One Board of Education and the Housatonic Valley Regional Faculty Association. Salary is based on degree and experience. This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement.
