'Student Teacher Accountability Reporting System' (STARS) - Data Programs Coordinator
General Job Description:

To assist administration and staff with correctly entering, maintaining, and collecting student data.  Submit all reports to the New Mexico Public Education Department required for school funding through the STARS system. Provide student and school data for reports to all departments as well as outside agencies and organizations as requested. Have excellent working knowledge of the district computer system used to produce required reports, as well as day-to-day skills on the operation and maintenance of this system.  Coordination of Local, State, and Federal program applications and reporting.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Bachelor’s Degree, Associates Degree or Technical Certifications Preferred  
  • Experience providing program reporting data and related information to state and federal regulatory governing bodies, including title programs.
  • Experience in PowerSchool, Excel including sorting counting and filtering, Master Scheduling, STARS, working with .txt and .csv files, etc.
  • Experience with PowerSchool Customization and SQL Coding, Power Scheduler, Word Mail Merge, desirable.
  • Technology experience and ability, willingness, desire to learn
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.,

Duties and Responsibilities: Physical Requirements:
  • Sitting, standing, lifting, and carrying (up to 30 pounds), reaching, climbing, squatting, bending, kneeling, and moving light furniture may be required. Prolonged typing, sitting, and working on a computer.
Safety and Health: Blood-borne pathogens standard training.
Equipment and Material Handled:
  • Must know how to properly operate or be willing to learn to operate all multimedia equipment including current technology, printers, scanners, copiers, fax machines, etc.
Work Environment:
  • Must be able to work within varying degrees of noise, temperature, and air quality. Interruptions of work are routine. Flexibility and patience are required. Must be able to work interactively with administrators and other school staff. Must be self-motivated and able to complete job assignments without direct supervision. After-hours work may be required. Must be able to work under stressful conditions.
Contract Period: Remainder of 2020-2021 Fiscal Year, and Fiscal Year 2021-2022.
Salary: Based on qualifications and experience.
Selection Process: Selected applicants will be interviewed on a rolling basis following an initial screening of application materials submitted.
