About to Organization:

The Innovative Arts Academy is a public charter school that provides students with opportunities to engage in specialized fields of study. IAACS opened its doors in the Fall 2016 to more than 250 students. Due to expansion plans to serve more than 750 students, IAACS is accepting applications for a Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction for the 2019-2020 academic year. 

About the Position:
The Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction will be responsible for conducting frequent classroom observations and coaching sessions with teachers, leading professional development for instructional staff, evaluating instructional staff, and ensuring that curriculum materials are aligned and executed with fidelity. This position reports to the Director of Curriculum and Instruction.

  • Own the growth, development, and performance of assigned teachers.
  • Create and deliver professional development on a weekly basis on instruction, assessment, and classroom management.
  • Observe every instructional staff member and provide continuous coaching and development to all instructional staff on a weekly basis.
  • Assist instructional staff with lesson planning, lesson execution, and continuous reflection.
  • Evaluate assigned instructional staff using the Enhanced Danielson Rubric at least 6 times per year.
  • Plan and lead weekly content team meetings with each department.
  • Lead weekly data review meetings where teacher critically analyze student work samples.
  • Provide intensive real-time coaching for teachers on a weekly basis
  • Oversee the development of common assessments, benchmark assessments, and PSSA/Keystone practice assessments.
  • Work with teachers to create remediation plans for at-risk students.
  • Serve as a member of the school leadership team and collaborate with other school administrators.
  • Develop, implement, and track a response to intervention framework for all subject areas in collaboration with the Principal.

Required Education: Masters Degree in Education
Certification Required: Principal (K-12) or Supervisor (K-12) by PA Department of Education
Required Experience: 5 years of experience as a classroom teacher 
Preferred Experience: 3-5 years as an Assistant Principal, Dean, Director, or Principal at the secondary level (preferred)
Employment Terms: 12 months
Salary: $60,000-$65,000
