Job Description:
St. Charles Community College is located just west of St. Louis, nestled in the heart of growing St. Charles County. Established in 1986, SCC is a public, comprehensive two-year community college offering associate degrees and certificate programs in the arts, business, sciences and career-technical fields. SCC also provides workforce training and community-based personal and professional development as well as cultural, recreational and entertainment opportunities.
Our Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences Department is seeking a part-time Office Assistant (24 hours/week) to greet students and visitors, answer incoming calls and direct callers and visitors to appropriate personnel.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Updates appointment calendars.
  • Answers questions about organization and provides callers with address, directions, and other information.
  • Enters data into computer following format displayed on screen, and enters necessary codes; types, revises, and combines material such as correspondence, reports, records, forms, minutes of meetings, scientific or technical material, numerical data, and tabular information, using word processing.
  • Receives, sorts, and routes mail, and maintains and routes publications.
  • Orders, receives, and maintains office supplies.
  • Completes other projects as assigned, such as preparing course evaluations, and preparing large mailings.
  • Assists with ticket sales in the Fine Arts Building Box Office during five production weeks per year, and on an as needed basis.
Qualifications:  One year certificate from college or technical school; or three or more months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office. Must demonstrate strong organizational, time management, and people skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.  Previous experience with handling cash exchanges preferred.
