Job Description:
Grain Valley Schools is looking for a top-notch Field Technician to maintain the district's hardware and software.  

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Configure, install, troubleshoot, and maintain computers, interactive whiteboards, and  peripherals.
  • Provide technical assistance and support for all computer users in the district for software, hardware, network and peripheral issues via telephone, remote control of computers or site visit to ensure minimal down time and greatest student and staff productivity.
  • Install and maintain computer systems and peripherals within district guidelines.
  • Resolve computer system and peripheral malfunctions.
  • Provide assistance to network administrator through support/recommendations and instruction as necessary.
  • Assist with images for staff, students, and lab machines.
  • Assist network administrator with networking equipment (wired and wireless), routers switches, bridges and other LAN devices.
  • Associates Degree in computer science, information technology or related field; one to three years of computer service experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of desktop systems and applications in a networked environment.
  • Preferred experience in Windows 10.
  • Ability to install and troubleshoot various software packages installed in the district; install/troubleshoot PCs, iPads, Chromebooks, printers, scanners, interactive whiteboards and TVs, projectors, Konicas, time clock machines, etc.
  • Knowledge of computer installation, maintenance, and software support to perform computer troubleshooting.
  • Ability to learn new operations, procedures, processes, and use of new equipment.
  • Ability to work as part of a team; be dependable, reliable, and flexible.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to articulate technical information to a non-technical audience in both electronic communication and in face to face settings.
  • Ability to be organized, set priorities, and work effectively under pressure, performing individual projects and routine matters with minimal direction from supervisor.
  • Ability to learn new systems and concepts as the district continues to expand technology.
  • Ability to keep accurate records, files and reports.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull 40 lbs. Ability to kneel, crouch, stoop, and reach overhead.
Salary Range: $18.00/hr - $20.25/hr

12 month position
