School Psychologist Job Description (K-8)   

Position: Full time; 10-month
Hours: Flexible
Pay: Based upon experience
Location: Philadelphia, PA.
 
Description: The position of school psychologist is responsible for the administration of individual psychological tests and assessments to students, aged 5 to 14.  This individual will work collaboratively in a professional learning community with teachers, staff, and other personnel to support the academic, behavioral, social, and emotional growth of the student body.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
·  Perform comprehensive evaluations and re-evaluations using psychometric
assessment tools (productivity quota of 2 (re)evaluations per week. Extra compensation is provided for additional (re)evaluations that are completed.)
·  Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to obtain relevant information
·  Manage the associated compliance dates using the provided tracking template and issue the necessary paperwork (i.e. PTE/PTRE, Invitations, etc.)
·  Maintain regular contact with parents/guardians during the evaluative process (e.g. answering related questions, scheduling meeting to review findings, etc.)
·  Identify and provide solutions for student needs to maximize success
·  Meet with parents and teachers to discuss learning, behavioral, familial, and/or social problems
·  Work directly with school staff to ensure understanding of evaluation results
 
Experience and Skills Required:
·  Certification in Pennsylvania as a School Psychologist
·  At least three years of related work experience
·  Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
·  Ability to work well with a diverse group of students, staff, and other professionals
·  Willingness to maintain the highest level of confidentiality
·  Flexibility in all regards and excellent time management skills
·  Familiarity with Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS)
·  Understanding of behavioral intervention strategies
·  Ability to effectively navigate various school-based systems (e.g. PowerSchool, IEP Writer, etc.)
