Job Description:
Job Summary: This position will be responsible for assisting the Supervisor with the coordination, collection, submission, and verification of all PIMS submissions following the procedures and timelines established by the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) for data submission, and assisting with Billing and Child Accounting activities within the Student Data department.

Essential Functions:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain internal procedure guides for State data submissions.
  • Assist with the implementation of key objectives of the State Data Governance initiative and participate in monthly Data Quality Network meetings acting as a backup to the Supervisor.
  • Maintain current knowledge of PIMS and Child Accounting reporting requirements as designated by the state and federal regulations, and communicate modifications to districts.
  • Coordinate, host, and facilitate Child Accounting/PIMS local meetings for school district and charter school personnel.  Attend A/CAPA, and other meetings as necessary.
  • Assist with the submission and verification of PIMS data collection elements.
  • Coordinate with LEA staff to provide information on students reported in state submissions by the IU.
  • Coordinate with IU Special Education Department and Business Office for IU classroom program billing ensuring appropriate documentation is maintained for all enrollments, residency, guardianship, and attendance.
  • May be asked to work on location with new school district or charter school PIMS administrators to provide training, or act as a district or charter school PIMS administrator during a vacancy.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time, 260-day calendar position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. Hours of work are from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Hours are dependent on the needs of the districts.  Occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel: Little travel to client locations is expected for this position.
Education and Experience:
  • Level of Degree:
    • Associate’s Degree, Bachelor’s preferred with concentration in Business, Mathematics, or other analytical field.
    • 2-3 Years’ experience in Data Processing
    • Ability to work independently and within a team to accomplish goals and to problem solve.
    • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Advanced computer competency in Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn other software as needed.
