Job Description:
A vacancy exists for a Long-term Substitute Vision Support Teacher to work within the Office of Early Childhood Services at the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit.  This position is an Itinerant position that will provide services to children in Early Childhood programs throughout Montgomery County.
 
Qualifications:
  • A valid PA certification in Teacher of the Visually impaired (TVI); additional certification in Orientation & Mobility (O&M) preferred
  • Prefer Unified English Braille trained (UEB) 
  • Experience with students with vision support needs
  • Current child abuse, PA Criminal and FBI Fingerprint clearance (dated within one year of hire)
 
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • To develop an individualized program for students with vision support and/or orientation and mobility needs

Location:
The Montgomery County Intermediate Unit is located in Norristown, PA and services children throughout Montgomery County, PA.  Our Early Intervention Program is split along school district lines into four (4) regions within Montgomery County. This position requires travel throughout one of the four regions. Position location will be determined during the interview process. Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 7.5 hours/day, 10 months (194 days/year)
 

2024-2025 Salary:
Bachelor’s, Step 1: $52,572/year
Master’s, Step 1: $63,582/year
*Placement on salary schedule based on experience and/or education beyond the Master’s Degree.
