General Scope of Responsibilities – Determine students’ learning and emotional needs, recommend appropriate programs and/or services, carry out mandates and serve as liaison in schools, classrooms, and meetings to prevent student failure.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as the organizer of assigned school’s Multidisciplinary Team assisting in evaluation and interpretation of student performance data
- Provide expertise in the following areas:
- Teacher support with collaborative problem solving
- Assessment skills and data collection
- Behavior management strategies
- Knowledge of effective instruction
- Development of successful interventions
- Conduct psychological evaluations and reevaluations of exceptional students as recommended by the school administration
- Provide consultation in child development, learning theory, motivation, and clinical observation
- Coordinate special resources including psychiatric services, parent sessions, mainstreaming, referrals, and regular education support
- Represent the district at committee meetings, task forces, in-service presentations, and due process hearings
- Maintain knowledge base of the district population, facilities, staff, and available programs
- Monitor student caseload
- Monitor compliance timelines with the evaluation and IEP process
- Participate in child study, MTSS and additional meetings as needed
- Maintain currency in law, evaluation tools, and current practices
- Other duties as may be assigned
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Valid Pennsylvania certification as School Psychologist
- Ability to take direction and work well with others
- Ability to appear for work and to complete assigned tasks within a reasonable period of time
Physical Demands
- Ability to travel to various school district buildings and off-campus sites
- Ability to work in office or classroom environments for extended periods of time including, but not limited to, sitting, standing, some lifting, bending and reaching
- Ability to clearly and effectively communicate verbally

Must have valid PA certification as School Psychologist
Term of Employment – as per the CEA collective bargaining agreement
