High School Guidance Counselor
Position Type: Full-Time, 10-Month Position
Grades: 9–12
Location:Philadelphia Electrical & Technology Charter High School

Position Overview
PE&T Charter High School,  a dynamic public charter high school committed to preparing every student for college, career, and life success, is seeking a dedicated High School Guidance Counselor. This individual will work with students in grades 9–12, providing academic, social-emotional, and post-secondary guidance—with a strong emphasis on college and career counseling for seniors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group counseling to support students’ academic, social-emotional, and career development.
  • Guide seniors through the college application and financial aid process, including support with essays, scholarships, and transition planning.
  • Conduct classroom and parent workshops on college readiness, career pathways, and post-secondary options.
  • Monitor academic progress and collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to promote student achievement.
  • Support students in developing four-year academic and career plans.
  • Maintain accurate student records.
  • Serve as a key member of the MTSS team, promoting a positive, inclusive school culture.
  • Serve as College Board Coordinator for AP and SAT/PSAT. 
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in School Counseling or related field required.
  • Valid PA certification as a School Counselor.
  • Experience working in a high school setting preferred; charter school experience a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of the college admissions process, financial aid systems, and career readiness programs.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Passion for working with diverse student populations in an innovative and mission-driven school environment.
