    Daniel Boone Area School District is seeking a student-centered K-8 English as a Second Language (ESL) Long-Term Substitute to support multilingual learners across our elementary and middle schools (three buildings). The ESL Teacher will deliver high-quality English Language Development (ELD) instruction aligned to Pennsylvania standards and collaborate with classroom teachers, administrators, and families to ensure equitable access to curriculum and instruction for English Learners (ELs).
    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct ESL/ELD instruction to K-8 English Learners in alignment with the Pennsylvania English Language Development Standards.
    • Design and implement lessons that promote English language acquisition in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
    • Collaborate with classroom teachers to support content-area instruction and integrate language objectives into core instruction.
    • Develop, implement, and monitor ESL service plans and instructional supports.
    • Maintain accurate student records, progress monitoring data, and required documentation for state and federal compliance.
    • Participate in data team meetings, MTSS processes, IEP/504 meetings (as appropriate), and parent conferences.
    • Communicate effectively with families of English Learners, utilizing translation services as needed.
    • Stay current with best practices in ESL instruction and participate in ongoing professional development.
    • Support a culturally responsive, inclusive, and welcoming school environment.
    Required Qualifications
    • Valid Pennsylvania Instructional Teaching Certificate with ESL Program Specialist Certification (or eligibility to obtain).
