Job Description:
The Cape Girardeau Public School District is seeking a full time HVAC Technician.
 
The HVAC Technician is responsible for providing HVAC services with specific responsibility for identifying repair and/or replacement needs; installing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading HVAC systems and equipment; assisting other skilled trades; and ensuring that tools and materials are available at job site.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Certificate and a minimum of five years of documentable HVAC field experience (maintenance and repair experience in the HVAC and refrigeration trade).
• Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather and from tall ladders.
• Ability to perform skilled mechanical maintenance duties in the inspection, repair, installation and alteration of District heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems and related equipment and facilities.
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance and routine servicing of equipment.
• Ability to operate specialized machinery, equipment and tools utilized in the repair, installation and maintenance of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.
• Ability to work independently with little direction.
• Ability to routinely lift objects weighing up to 70 pounds.
