Job Description:
New Hartford Public Schools is seeking a long-term substitute for a .6 FTE Music Teacher.  Anticipated dates August 26, 2022 to February 24, 2023
Music Teacher (0.6 FTE)
For All Schools: Grades K-4
Requirements:    State of Connecticut Teaching Certificate in Music (049)
                           Experience as Music Teacher preferred
                           Training in Responsive Classroom preferred
                           Strong Interpersonal Skills
Salary Range:  As Per the New Hartford Education Association Contract

  • Develops and administers music education curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.  
  • Instruct students in music and foster music appreciation.
  • Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.
  • Conducts ongoing assessment of student musical learning and progress, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as needed.
  • Utilizes repertoire of all types of music literature, as appropriate.
  • Plans, coordinates rehearsals for, and directs students in musical programs and performances outside the classroom.
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues to improve learning for all students.
