Job Description:
3rd Grade Classroom Teacher – 3 Month Maternity Leave Position (Late February through early June)

OVERVIEW

St. James School in Stratford is seeking a teacher to teach 3rd Grade starting the end of February through early June of this year.  Candidates must have a love for working with elementary age children, is kind, caring, and patient.  Experience working with elementary age children is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES (The below description is illustrative of tasks and responsibilities.  It is not meant to be all inclusive of every task or responsibility)

• Demonstrate competence in teaching
• Plan lessons (with guidance from current teacher’s notes)
• Follow a curriculum
• Connect and build successful relationships with the children
• Effectively manage the children using age-appropriate practices
• Assess children’s progress
• Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning
• Collaborate with colleagues

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree accredited college/university in Education or related discipline to teaching assignment
• Valid State Teaching Certification in appropriate grade level and/or subject
• Loves working with children!
