Classroom Teacher Duties and Responsibilities:
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree, completion of a teacher education program. Must pass background check and state or local assessment.
Salary Range: Salary commensurate based on level of experience, education and certification.
Classroom Teacher Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops lesson plans which meet established school and national curriculum models
- Adapts and reassesses lesson plans to meet specific student needs, comply with newly implemented guidelines or rules, and to update relevant information and include new developments in education
- Manages the diverse ability levels of students
- Adapts curriculum to fit student needs while maintaining overall class progress
- Possesses and continually develops working knowledge of national curriculum programs and frameworks
- Assesses and records student development, while identifying problem areas and areas which need attention and improvement
- Provides a safe, positive learning environment for students
- Communicates with any and all other staff members who engage with students
- Communicates with parents as per school guidelines on a regular basis, including presenting student progress reports and informing parents of requisite student discipline
- Maintains order and discipline among students while promoting safety and compliance with school rules and guidelines
- Attends occasional continuing education seminars
- Attends and takes part in school meetings on curriculum, organization, and guidelines
- Interacting Well with Students - Educators must be able to positively interact with all students.
- Creating a Learning Environment - Educators must set high expectations for student performance and behavior.
- Good at Lesson Plan Design - Educators must be capable of designing lesson plans to meet student needs and cover the standards.
- Able to Use Varied Teaching Strategies - Educators must be able to implement best practices and other appropriate teaching to effectively teach the curriculum.
- Able to Assess - Educators must design or select and administer effective assessments.
- Able to Identify Student Needs - Educators must be able to identify and address student needs.
- Good at Communication - Educators must be able to communicate effectively with parents and other stakeholders in a child's education.
- Able to Collaborate - Educators must be able to collaborate with other teachers and school staff.
- Maintaining a Professional Appearance - Educators must be able to maintain a professional appearance at all times.
- Demonstrating a Commitment to the Profession
