Job Description:
The Highville Board of Directors seek:
  • A dynamic individual as the Principal of a PK-12 charter school with a warm, caring and successful educational environment for its students, staff, their families and the surrounding community.    
  • A visionary leader, skilled in collaboration and communication, with a record of demonstrated accomplishment. 
  • A leader who models a belief in continuous improvement, operates with integrity, and has high expectations for himself/herself, staff, and students. This educator must be student-centered, an effective communicator, highly visible, with expertise in instructional practices and proficient in technology.
  • A close listener and coalition builder who can create common cause around high- quality learning in which all students are provided every opportunity to realize their full potential.
  • Candidates must possess or be eligible for an Intermediate Administration or Supervision (092) certification in Connecticut. The salary and benefit package will be regionally competitive.
  • Candidate must adhere to the Code of Professional Responsibility for School Administrators (Sec. 10-145d-400b) Regulations of Connecticut State Agencies

  • How would you help teachers and staff Improve student achievement?
  • What is your vision for Special Education?
  • What should teachers and staff expect from the principal?
  • Discuss the relationship between instructional improvement, teacher evaluation and staff development.
