Position Title: Connecticut Family Schools Partnerships (CFSP) Website & Communications Coordinator

Organizational Overview 
Capitol Region Education Council (CREC) is a regional education service center and non-profit organization serving school districts and community agencies. Programming encompasses a wide range of programming and services to meet the educational needs of schools, community agencies children and families. CREC’s mission, equity, excellence and success for all, is the core of the work.

CREC is seeking a Website and Communications Coordinator for the Connecticut Family School Partnerships Initiative (CFSP), which is a federally funded project to elevate family engagement practice and policy in Connecticut.   Through this grant, the CFSP will develop into the state’s “go to” resource for family engagement.  The grant is anticipated to end September 30, 2023.

The CFSP Website & Communications Coordinator will be responsible for the following:
  • developing and maintaining family engagement content on the Connecticut HUB for Family Engagement (the website);
  • establishing and maintaining an active social media presence for CFSP;
  • designing informational flyers and briefs about family engagement;
  • ensuring that the website is functioning optimally, i.e., streamlined navigation, compliant with applicable state and federal accessibility laws, and otherwise well-designed to fulfill its intended purpose- to be a useful and relevant tool about family engagement for families, school staff and community providers;
  • ensuring continuity, quality and timeliness of information about family engagement resources throughout the state; and
  • developing communication plans, including social marketing strategies and other outreach, to ensure resources and professional opportunities are accessible to families, school districts and community agencies statewide.
Required Skills
  • Bachelor Degree in website development or a related field; or a minimum of three years’ experience in a related field.
  • Advanced knowledge of website development tools including Adobe, Word Press, other website and graphic design applications.
  • Impeccable written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of family engagement principles and practice.
  • Ability to work in a fact paced and flexible environment with multiple partners.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • A commitment to operationalize equal and equitable access to information and resources for families and students in Connecticut.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English applicants are highly encouraged to apply.
